On June 17, 2021, the BC Legislature passed the Accessible British Columbia Act (the “Act”) into law. In alignment with the Accessible Canada Act, the Act will create new responsibilities for organizations, embracing the UN Convention’s principle, “Nothing About Us Without Us” to guide development of accessibility standards.
I would like to give my support to the continuation of the Grad Transition Program for Deaf and Hard of Hearing grade 11 and 12 students. This has always been an excellent program, helping to make students aware of their responsibilities and their rights as students in the Post Secondary system.

Teacher of the Deaf
and Hard of Hearing

Working with the ACE-BC team was (and continues to be) an outstanding experience. Their consultations and practical resources are evident in many aspects of services provided to our Deaf and hard-of-hearing clients. The ACE-BC team is never satisfied just by making generic recommendations, but rather applies a creative and individual approach to each unique case.

ACE-BC excels at providing innovative information related to post-secondary accessibility and educational supports to various individuals, groups, and allies. Their compassion is followed with professional expertise as they continually aim to create barrier-free, accessible learning opportunities.
